Charity Assessment Criteria
1. The promotion of ethical and religious principles in industry with a view to ensuring the discharge by persons engaged in industry of their social obligations for the welfare of the communities within which they operate.
2. The promotion of sustainable development for the benefit of the public by the preservation, conservation and the protection of the environment and the prudent use of natural resources and the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration.
| 1. What is the project trying to achieve |
| As a general rule we support those projects which: |
Respond to the needs of people who are most underprivileged disadvantaged poor and on the fringes of society |
Help people to help themselves and give them a sense of dignity and self respect |
Are based on local communities and spring from their own expressed needs and wishes |
Are start up organisations with innovative ideas to solve old problems in new ways |
| If the application does not meet any of the requirement listed in 1 and 2 then it should not be considered for funding |

| 2. Whom is the project trying to help |
| (a) In each country where we have companies we are interested in projects which |
Support those who are especially vulnerable such as children, young and elderly people women seeking refuge and members of minority ethnic communities |
Help people who are homeless, unemployed and living in poverty |
Enable us to offer support to local communities to whom we have a special responsibility as neighbour and employer |

| (b) If the project is in the developing world, we are especially interested in supporting projects which |
Provide support for poor rural people and their communities to enable them to become self sufficient |
Provide emergency aid to people in times of natural disasters |
Involve communities in meeting their own needs |
