Scott Bader's commitment to the protection of the environment comes from the principles laid down in its 1951 Constitution.
Several of Scott Bader's manufacturing sites have gained accreditation to IS0 14001. This involves recognising, understanding and addressing all significant environmental impacts of the company's activities and products. Each year a management programme is set and approved focusing on particular areas for improvement in the year.
Through the implementation of ISO 14001, the company has made a clear statement that environmental management is an integral part of the company agenda.
For our customers, our continued heavy investment in research and development (both product and process development) means that we are able to include the principles of minimum environmental impact (e.g. low biological or chemical oxygen demand thickeners). Wherever possible we aim to source raw materials from naturally available and renewable resources.
