PVdC
Scott Bader has been an established manufacturer of Polyvinylidene (PVdC) emulsions for over 30 years and are one of a few European manufacurers of this type of resin.
The Polidene range of emulsions are used in varying applications such as rust convertors and anticorrosive primers for metals, fire retardant and intumescent coatings and barrier coatings for paper and board.
This diverse range of applications is because of some of the key benefits outlined below:
- The halogen content of the polymers lends itself to fire retardant properties
- Barrier properties make these resins ideal for anticorrosive primer applications
- PVdC's have excellent MVTR and gas barrier properties and have been used in barrier coatings for many years
- Chemical resistance to certain acids and solvents
- Controlled crystallinity for improved slip and blocking resistance
